Golden Globes January 6th, 2019
Classic black was the theme of the 2019 Golden Globes. Christian Bale and Finn Wittrock to pair their black ensembles with a back shirt and tie, an unusual, yet sophisticated look. Others opted for classic tuxedos with a hint of uber luxe fabrics; James Van der Beek went for a deep brown velvet, Idris Elba donned for a deep, green jewel tone and Mahershala Ali completed his classic look perfectly with a navy and gold embroidered silk scarf. Timothée Chalamet perhaps stole the show, rocking a Louis Vuitton embellished bib over his all black look. Bradley Cooper may have been snubbed for his directorial debut, but stood out on the red carpet wearing a dapper, all white tux.
Critics Choice Awards, January 13th, 2019
A more casual evening, the 2019 Critics Choice Awards saw pop of color and a lot of prints and more detailed fabrics. Diego Luna in Prada and Ryan Reynolds in Dior opted for a no tie, more casual look. John Legend went for a quirky, all brown attire from top to toe. His Ermenegildo Zegna XXX suit stood out among a sea of more classic looks. Rami Malek in Givenchy and Edgar Ramirez in Prada donned lighter looks, but Richard Madden in a double breasted, black velvet Armani tuxedo stole the show.
